President of the Senate - Peter Groff

Peter C. Groff (born April 21, 1963) is a Colorado legislator and President of the Colorado Senate. An attorney, public servant, and political veteran, Groff was elected as a Democrat to the Colorado House of Representatives in 2000, then re-elected in 2002. In 2003, he was appointed to the Colorado Senate, where he represents Senate District 33, which includes northeastern Denver, Colorado.[5]. Groff is the first African-American to serve as Colorado Senate president pro tem and Senate President, and is the highest-ranking African-American elected official in Colorado history. Speaker of the House - Terrance Carroll

Representative Terrance D. Carroll is the 34th Speaker of the House. He is the first African American in that top leadership role.

Speaker Carroll’s first elective office was his current seat in the 65-member chamber, where he has served since 2003, representing House District 7, an area that encompasses northeast Denver. During the 2008 session, he served as Assistant Majority Leader.

Forty year-old Speaker Carroll is an attorney with Greenberg Traurig, LLP, as well as an ordained minister.

August William "Bill" Ritter, Jr. (born September 6, 1956) is an American politician of the Democratic Party, and the current Governor of the state of Colorado. Before his election in 2006, he served as the district attorney for Denver.
